Arts in Health in India scoping
As a young organisation, in order to contribute to this field more meaningfully, we are engaged in ongoing scoping to understand the landscape of existing work using arts based methodologies in health and health research. This is an ongoing exercise through which we hope to learn about the different journeys that organisations and individuals have made in weaving together the arts with health, across different geographical regions, socio-cultural contexts, art forms and pedagogies.
on REST
Rest is physiologically and emotionally vital. Rest is also elusive. There are practical and socio-cultural barriers to resting. There are nuanced intersections and associations between rest and marginality, safety, loss, productivity, change-making and so on. Resting is harder than we may realise. There are clear links between rest and multiple aspects of health. Through participatory arts based workshops with diverse groups, FAHI is embarking on a process of inquiry to explore notions of rest, barriers to rest and routes to rest. Our eventual goal is to help individuals and communities rest better.
